EASA reissues Safety Information Bulletin on Motorgasoline
19 January 2011
The use of MOGAS (motorgasoline) in aircraft is permitted if approved by the Aircraft Type Certificate Holder or through a STC modification.
The increased use and concentrations of ethanol or methanol in motorgasoline in Europe is a matter of concern.
The EASA SIB lists problems such as risks of vapour lock, incompatibility with fuel system materials, phase-separation and improper fuel quantity indication.
The EASA SIB can be dowloaded from the upper right hand corner
